How does the To-Go System work?
RPG To-Go is a collaborative storytelling game that enables players to create unique stories on-the-go.
First, players will gather their friends and build their world. Each player will pick an “Ingredient”. These are the building blocks of a To-Go game. Ingredients can be anything! Think of a color, a song, a picture, a movie, or anything at all!
An elected player, the “Narrator”, will then have 10 minutes to follow the instructions in the RPG To-Go Manual and combine the ingredients into a fantastical adventure setting!
Using the To-Go sheets and the NPC Wheel players will build their custom characters and jump right into the action. Character creation takes less than 5 minutes and the NPC Wheel spins to create customizable Non-Player Characters in seconds.
RPG To-Go uses a single 6-sided die to determine the outcome of the player’s actions. When playing “To-Go” style only the Narrator needs to handle the die and the To-Go Manual, which leaves everyone else hands free for snacking (or whatever you wanna do) keeping your storytelling game light and on-the-go.
To win the game players need to work together to finish the story. There are no limits to the adventures that await those who take it To-Go!
Who’s in the Kitchen?
RPG To-Go is a small business of only one person, (that’s me, Hi!) based in Utah.
RPG To-Go is made in small batches and some items are assembled by hand (by me, Hi Again!) to ensure the perfect To-Go box for your game!
ABOUT J. ATTRIDGE
(and the creation of RPG To-Go)
J. is a homebrewer and a lazy mathematician from Utah who loves RPG tabletop games but has always felt limited by the pre-existing lore of other RPGs.
They hated having to refer to pages and pages of stats that never really fit the characters they were trying to build anyway, and they struggled with the convoluted rules and technicalities of the popular tabletop games.
J. created RPG To-Go while on a roadtrip with friends as a way to pass the time. It was then they realized how simple storytelling games can be.
“It shouldn’t take hours and hours of prep to play a game. And the rules shouldn’t limit the fun either! RPG To-Go allows players the flexibility to tell the stories they want to tell quickly and easily. As it should be.”
